Higher Capital Executive brings a tailored approach to real estate executive search. Every search is lead by Hamish who has experience across multiple continents and at all stages of the asset lifecycle.

The HCE and HCC team has a huge knowledge base within the real estate industry that brings the all the necessary expertise to identify, attract and retain the best-in-class candidates for each search.

With our in-house research capabilities supported by the wider network of Higher Capital Consulting, we bring an approach that delivers the very best for all parties and our aim is to ensure we partner with you for the very best results.

MEET THE HCE TEAM

CHRIS

Founder

Chris spent 4 years at Balfour Beatty before joining a global recruitment agency to leverage his industry knowledge in re-establishing a London real estate desk. After 4 years, in which he was consecutive top biller and promoted to Manager, he left to pursue a new challenge, – establishing and founding Higher Capital Consulting in 2015.

For over a decade Chris has recruited exclusively for real estate investors and developers. He has extensive experience solving the recruitment challenges of some of London’s revered developers, funds, and equity firms. He’s an expert in both recruitment and real estate, offering genuine collaboration, insightful consultation and access to the best talent available.

ELSA

Research

Elsa has 3 years’ experience in recruitment, working across different industries (Real Estate, Property Technology, MarTech, AdTech) and regions (Europe and North America). 

Elsa joined HCC in 2023 as a Senior Consultant in the Investment and Asset Management team, working with large and mid-cap investors as well as smaller, boutique investment managers. She partners with clients on roles from analyst to director level.

She studied Spanish and International Media and Communications at the University of Nottingham. She had the opportunity to live in Peru and Spain as part of her year abroad. Outside of work, Elsa enjoys going to yoga and spinning, and exploring London.

HAMISH

MD

Hamish is the Managing Director for Higher Capital Executive, joining the business to work alongside Chris Shewry and further grow HCC’s expertise in real estate executive search. Hamish has experience in successfully completing searches in the UK, Europe and USA and represents his clients and candidates as an ambassador to bringing diversity and equality for the companies he works with.

Hamish has executive search experience across all areas of real estate including Corporate real estate, investment, development, asset management, facilities management and construction working with firms at every stage of the asset lifecycle.

His particular sector of expertise is within the living sector where he has worked with private housebuilders, Social housing RP’s, Build to Rent, pbsa and later living through both not for profit, private ownership, plc and private equity

Hamish has extensive experience working across multiple countries including multiple successful multifamily searches in the US up to President level with many of the leading multifamily investors and developers and worked through high growth and mature real estate markets.

His background and knowledge brings experience that will advise and listen closely to the people he works with to identify and secure the right person for the position. Hamish always takes the time to engage with the clients and candidates he works with to understand their needs and ensure everyone has all the information and contact they need throughout the search process.
